PIMS


Personal IMS is an Internet map server allowing publishing in Internet/Intranet maps created in ArcGIS.

With Personal IMS you may easily publish your maps in *.mxd, *.mxt, or *.pmf formats and make them available for viewing in Intranet or worldwide via Internet.

For viewing maps published with Personal IMS you need only standard browser and Internet connection. To install and run Personal IMS there is no need to have a web server or any server-specific software - all required components are included and installed with the Personal IMS application.

What's new in Personal IMS 1.1:

  • ArcGIS 9.2 support:
    now you can publish ArcGIS 9.2 maps with Personal IMS
  • Support for raster datasets
    Raster layers (in TIFF, JPG and BMP formats) in the maps are now supported (including building pyramids)
  • Improved labeling
    Personal IMS labeling engine is significantly enhanced
  • Scale bar can be added in the map
  • Miscellaneous cartography improvements

Pims Administrator

Requirements:

  • Requisite software: ArcGIS Desktop 9.1 or 9.2 should be installed in order to publish maps in ArcGIS formats (*.mxd, *.mxt, *.pmf) with Personal IMS
  • Operating system: Personal IMS operates under Microsoft Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/2003
  • If you wish to use ASP templates the Web-server supporting ASP pages processing should be installed (for example, Web-server within Microsoft IIS)
  • Disk space: 19,3 Mb

Restrictions in the current version:

  • Supported vector data formats in the maps are only ESRI shapefiles and ArcSDE geodatabase feature classes
  • Supported raster data formats are TIFF, JPEG, BMP
  • TIN layers are not currently supported
